When your lips close around a bite of this strong, salty liquorice, the potent Nordic taste explodes on your tongue, bringing up associations of the sea, tar, bonfire smoke and the scent of resin. 

We use rice flour that is taste-neutral, which makes other flavors in the licorice more prominent. In addition, rice flour is gluten-free. The characteristic taste of licorice in the licorice root is shaped by the soil and climate in which it grows. This means that the taste varies depending on where the licorice root is harvested and we therefore use licorice roots from different places around the world.
